This page covers the template only. For a car, truck or van there is the vehicle bill of sale, which also lists this site's vehicle state pages: they are written for selling a car, truck or van, not for selling equipment. A motorcycle and a tractor each have their own template: the motorcycle bill of sale and the tractor bill of sale.

What to write about the equipment
The template has a line for each of these, so the equipment can be told apart from anything similar.
- A description of the equipment
- Make, model and year
- Serial number
- The hour meter reading, if it has one
- Attachments and accessories included
- Its condition, as the seller describes it
Serial numbers and hour meters
A serial number tells one machine apart from another of the same model, and an hour meter reading records how much it had been used at the time of the sale. The template has a line for each.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a separate template for a tractor?
Yes. A tractor has its own template, with lines for its serial number, engine hours, and the attachments and implements sold with it.
What if several items are sold together?
The description line and the attachments line have room for several items. For a longer list, the Word file can be edited to add lines before printing.
What does the template say about the attachments?
It has two lines for the attachments and accessories included, and the Sale part has one printed sentence: the seller sells the equipment, with the attachments and accessories listed above, to the buyer for the price above. The Word file can be edited to change that wording before printing.
