This page covers the template only, and it does not cover titling or registration of ATVs or UTVs. This site's vehicle state pages, listed on the vehicle bill of sale page, are written for selling a car, truck or van, not for selling ATVs or UTVs.

What to write about the ATV or side-by-side

The template has a line for each of these, so the vehicle can be told apart from any other.

  • Whether it is an ATV or a UTV (side-by-side)
  • Year, make and model
  • Engine size in cc, and color
  • VIN or serial number
  • Title or registration number, if it has one
  • The odometer or hour meter reading, if it has one
  • Its condition, as the seller describes it

Side-by-sides and UTVs

The template has a line for whether the vehicle is an ATV or a UTV (side-by-side), and the same lines describe either: the vehicle, its VIN or serial number, engine size, any reading, the price and both signatures.

Frequently asked questions

Does the template have a line for a title or registration number?

It has one line for a title or registration number, if the vehicle has one. This page does not cover whether an ATV or a UTV is titled or registered: this site's vehicle state pages, listed on the vehicle bill of sale page, are written for selling a car, truck or van, not for selling ATVs or UTVs.

Does the ATV or UTV template have an odometer statement?

No. It has one line for the odometer or hour meter reading, if the vehicle has one, and no line for a statement about the reading. The vehicle bill of sale has a line for the odometer status (actual mileage, exceeds mechanical limits, or not the actual mileage) and explains the federal odometer rule. This page does not say whether the federal odometer rule applies to a particular ATV or UTV.

Is there a template for a dirt bike, a snowmobile or a golf cart?

Yes. A dirt bike, a snowmobile and a golf cart each have their own template. The dirt bike template has a line for spare parts or gear, the snowmobile template one for a trailer sold with it, and the golf cart template lines for gas or electric and for the batteries of an electric cart.
