This page covers the template only. It does not cover rules on selling, branding, inspecting or moving livestock. This site's vehicle state pages, listed on the vehicle bill of sale page, are written for selling a car, truck or van, not for selling livestock. A horse has its own template.

What to write about the animals
The template has a line for each of these, so the animals sold can be told apart from any others.
- Species and breed
- Number of head
- Sex and age
- Identification, such as ear tags, brands, tattoos or other marks
- Registration numbers and registry, if any
- Papers included
- Their condition and health, as the seller describes them
More than one animal
The template is laid out for one animal or a group: it has a line for the number of head and two lines for identification, such as the ear tag number of each animal. For a larger group, the Word file can be edited to add more lines before printing.
Frequently asked questions
Can one bill of sale cover several animals?
The template is laid out for one animal or a group, with a line for the number of head and two lines for identification such as ear tags or brands. The Word file can be edited to add more lines.
Does the livestock template have a notary section?
No. Below the lines for the animals, their identification and their papers, the template ends with the Sale part and the signature lines. This page does not cover rules for livestock sales.
Is there a separate template for a horse?
Yes. A horse has its own template, with lines for the horse's name, markings, registration and microchip number.
